On Sunday 11 December 2016, an event to honour the birth of the sublime Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) was held in Bristol at the Bristol Jamia Masjid. The local community of Bristol gathered together for an evening of reflection and inspiration.
The event was titled ‘Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): The Embodiment of Peace’ and featured nasheeds and poetry by the renowned reciter, Syed Fasih Uddin Soharwardi, and a lecture on the topic by the Vice-Principal of Jamia Al-Karam, Bakhtyar Pirzada al-Azhari. The event was organised and hosted by the Imam at Bristol Jamia Masjid and graduate of Jamia Al-Karam, Imam Hafiz Muhammad Asim.
In his lecture, the Vice-Principal reflected on the objective of prophetic guidance being the attainment of inner and outer peace in every aspect of life and the preference of peace over all else. The manner of achieving such inward and outward peace is through the process of mercy, which is exemplified by the Prophet (peace be upon him) who was sent as a mercy to all the worlds as mentioned in the Qur’an. Books written by Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada were available at the event with significant interest from the younger readers in the recent publication ‘The Beautiful Life of Muhammad (peace be upon him)’.
