On Saturday 10 December 2016, a grand Mawlid event honouring the birth of the sublime Messenger Muhammad (Allah bless him and grant him peace) was held in the city of London. The event was titled ‘Peace for Humanity’ to emphasise the centrality of peace in the prophetic message.
Taking place at the Boleyn Banqueting Suite in East Ham, the event was attended by a large number of scholars and Imams as well as members of the public and was hosted by Maulana Ijaz Ahmed Nerwi. Keynote speeches were delivered by Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, Member of Parliament for East Ham, Stephen Timms MP, and Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani.
The event concluded with recitations of nasheeds and salutations upon the sublime Messenger Muhammad (Allah bless him and grant him peace), followed by prayers of peace for humanity.
