On Saturday 14th May 2022, at the 2022 Convocation held at Dar-ul-Uloom Muhammadia Ghausia in Bhera, District Sargodha, Pakistan, which included the graduation ceremony of 610 scholars and Imams of this year, Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, a leading alumnus of the institution and student of the Zia-ul-Ummat (Luminary of the Ummah), Justice Pir Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari (ra), was honoured as the first ever recipient of the institution’s highest and most prestigious award, the ‘Amir-us-Salikeen Award’, for his intellectual and scholarly, religious and spiritual, as well as cultural and charitable achievements.
The ‘Amir-us-Salikeen Award’ is attributed to the founding scholar and spiritual leader of the Khanqah of Bhera Sharif, namely Hazrat Amir-us-Salikeen Pir Muhammad Amir Shah (ra), who passed away in 1927 and had laid the foundations of a meaningful spiritual and educational legacy. He is the grandfather of Pir Muhammad Karam Shah (ra) and a leading light in the Chishti Nizami Sufi Tariqah.
On behalf of Pir Muhammad Amin Ul Hasnat Shah, the Principal of the Dar-ul-Uloom, custodian of the Shrine of Amir-us-Salikeen Bhera Sharif and former Minister of State for Religious Affairs of Pakistan, the award was presented by Professor Dr Qibla Ayaz, the Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology of Pakistan. Shaykh Pirzada was unable to travel to Pakistan in person, and so the award was received on his behalf by his nephew, Pir Muhammad Mazhar Hussain Qadri of Mangani Sharif, District Jhang, Pakistan.
All at Jamia Al-Karam extend words of congratulations to Shaykh Pirzada for another moment of recognition for his lifelong struggles and endeavours in service of religion and the community.
