Jamia Al-Karam marked this previous weekend with its first Shabb-e Karam (Night of Benevolence). On Saturday night, 14 October 2017, with blessings and specific permission from the honourable Pir Muhammad Amin Ul Hasnat Shah of Bhera Sharif, Pakistan, and under the direction of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, intellectual and spiritual gatherings of zikr and reflection took place.
The weekend of Shabb-e Karam takes place monthly at Jamia Al-Karam coinciding with the Shabb-e Karam gatherings held at the mausoleum of the late Zia-ul-Ummat, Justice Pir Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari (ra), in Bhera Sharif, Pakistan. Shabb-e Karam at Jamia Al-Karam consists of Khatm-e Qur’an with recitals of the full Qur’an in both the brothers and the sisters colleges as well as Isal-e Thawab gatherings marking Giyarwi Sharif in honour of the 6th century AH Sufi scholar and leader of saints, al-Ghawth al-Azam, Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani (ra).
Along with the teachers and members of staff, Jamia Al-Karam was also honoured to welcome a number of its graduates during this inaugural Shabb-e Karam weekend including Ustadh Muhammad Mahfooz Wasif (Burton-on-Trent), Ustadh Arif Adam (Bolton), Imam Muhammad Umar Nawaz (Cardiff), Sister Rukhsanda Khatoon (Cardiff), Brother Dawood Masood (Luton), Imam Muhammad Amir (Stoke-on-Trent) and Ustadh Faizul Hassan (Burton-on-Trent). The dinner of Giyarwi Sharif was sponsored by graduate and teacher of Jamia Al-Karam, Maulana Zein Hud al-Azhari.
