Condolence on the passing away of Dr Fuad Nahdi

Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada expresses deep sadness at the passing away of a brother and friend, Dr Fuad Nahdi, and, on behalf of everyone at Jamia Al-Karam, extends condolences to his family, friends and associates. We are for Allah and to Him is our return.

The passing away of Dr Fuad Nahdi leaves a void in the Muslim community of the UK. He was a talented, intelligent and profoundly spiritual human being with sincere affection and kindness towards others. He was instrumental as an editor and publisher of the historic Q-News, the first independent Muslim current affairs magazine in the UK, as well as the landmark international Mawlid conferences held at the Wembley Arena in London.

Throughout his life, he remained a passionate servant of Islam and the Muslim community bringing the community together in the spirit of cohesion and playing his key part in promoting the moderation of Islam countering the narratives of extremism and terrorism. He was a man with an energetic personality through which he was able to be a fatherly figure and an inspiration to many young people.

Shaykh Pirzada’s last meeting with Dr Fuad was only recently at the opening of the Cambridge Mosque, and both expressed a desire to meet up again soon in Jamia Al-Karam. We pray that Allah Almighty grants him His divine mercy and gives him a high rank in Paradise. Amin.
